How to get the original Hyundai window sticker
This page can't pull the original label, so here's where it usually turns up:
- The car's paperwork. Check the glove box and the deal folder from the first sale.
- A Hyundai dealer. A franchised Hyundai dealer can usually print the original Hyundai window sticker from the VIN. Call the sales or service desk first.
- Hyundai customer service. If no dealer can produce it, ask Hyundai directly, with the VIN in hand.
In the meantime, the free spec sheet decodes the VIN and adds EPA ratings, NHTSA crash ratings and recalls.
Which Hyundai hybrid gets the best mpg?
| 2026 Hyundai hybrid | EPA combined | Blue version |
|---|---|---|
| Elantra Hybrid | 50 mpg | 54 mpg |
| Sonata Hybrid | 47 mpg | 51 mpg |
| Tucson Hybrid | 36 mpg | 38 mpg |
| Palisade Hybrid, front-wheel drive | 31 mpg | 34 mpg |
| Palisade Hybrid AWD | 29 mpg | None listed |
| Santa Fe Hybrid | 36 mpg FWD, 34 AWD | None listed |
Source: EPA data on fueleconomy.gov, which lists the Blue versions separately. A hybrid that doesn't plug in gets the gasoline label; the Tucson Plug-in Hybrid gets a two-box label, with 32 miles of electric range and 35 mpg on gas.
Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9 range on the window sticker
Hyundai's EVs carry the electric label: range, MPGe, kWh per 100 miles and the charge time at 240 volts. Wheel size and drive change the number, and a VIN doesn't always show the wheels:
- Ioniq 5 (2026): 318 miles RWD, 245 for the Standard Range, 290 AWD on 19-inch wheels and 269 on 20-inch wheels, 259 for the XRT and 221 for the Ioniq 5 N
- Ioniq 9 (2026): 335 miles RWD, 320 AWD and 311 for the Performance
- Ioniq 6 (2025): 342 miles RWD on 18-inch wheels, 291 on 20-inch wheels
When the decode can't settle on one EPA listing, the spec sheet leaves range blank instead of guessing.
Why does a 2025 Ioniq 5 show only a rollover rating?
For 2025, NHTSA rated the Ioniq 5 at 5 stars for rollover and published no overall, frontal or side score. When NHTSA hasn't rated a vehicle, the sticker has to say so. Other 2025 Hyundais are fully rated: the Tucson and Palisade earned 5 stars overall with 5-star frontal and side scores, and the Santa Fe earned 4 stars overall. The spec sheet shows the same NHTSA data for your VIN's model.
Where is the VIN on a Hyundai, and which codes are Hyundai's?
Read the VIN through the windshield on the driver's side, or on the label in the driver's door jamb. Per vPIC, Hyundai Motor Co. in Korea uses KMH (cars) and KM8 (SUVs); 5NP belongs to the Hyundai-Kia America Technical Center; 5NM and 5NT to Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama; and 7YA to the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, a code vPIC lists for Hyundai and Kia.
Several codes are shared: KMH and 5NM also appear under Genesis, and Kia's KND and Kia Georgia's 5XY list Hyundai too. The tool checks the make the VIN decodes to and points a Genesis or Kia VIN to the Genesis or Kia page. The Hyundai VIN decoder covers the remaining characters.
Selling used Hyundais?
A used Ioniq 5's range depends on its drive and wheels, so put the EPA figure and the decoded trim in the listing. The free window sticker maker puts those details on a printed window sheet with your price and a QR code to the listing. Every used car on the lot also needs the FTC Buyers Guide.
With CarShots, you pick one of 20 backdrops and use it on every car, so your Hyundai listings look like one lot.
