Does the Kia window sticker lookup still work?
Not on kia.com. Kia removed its public window sticker URL: the address that used to serve them returned a 404 error for the 2021, 2025 and 2027 VINs we tested on October 20, 2026. So a Kia window sticker lookup for the original label now goes through a Kia dealer, who can print it from the VIN.
The lookup on this page still answers most of what people want to know. It decodes the VIN and adds EPA fuel economy or range, NHTSA crash ratings and the recalls NHTSA lists for that model and year, free and printable.
How to get the original Kia window sticker
Look in the car first
Check the glove box, the owner's manual pouch and the sales folder. Some owners keep the label.
Call a Kia dealer
Give the sales or service desk the 17-character VIN and ask for a reprint of the window sticker.
Contact Kia customer service
If a dealer can't help, ask Kia directly with the VIN and model year.
Keep the spec sheet on file
Run the VIN above and print the result: decoded build, EPA figures, crash ratings and recalls.
Kia Telluride window sticker: 2025 vs 2027
EPA's data shows how much the Telluride changed. The 2025 Telluride's 3.8-liter V6 is rated at 22 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 20 with AWD. The 2027 Telluride moves to a 2.5-liter turbo four with the same 22 and 20 mpg, 19 for the X-Pro, and adds a hybrid: 33 mpg with front-wheel drive, 31 with AWD and 35 for the FE Hybrid.
The hybrid's label uses the gasoline layout, since it doesn't plug in. The decode shows the engine, which narrows the EPA match, but a trim like the FE Hybrid may still need the original label for the exact figure.

Where is the VIN on a Kia, and why do some Kia codes say Hyundai?
Read the VIN through the windshield on the driver's side or on the driver's door jamb label. Per vPIC, Kia Corporation uses KNA (cars) and KND (SUVs), Kia Georgia uses 5XX (cars) and 5XY (SUVs), and Kia Mexico uses 3KP (cars) and 3KM (SUVs). vPIC lists KND, 5XY, 3KM and 3KP for Hyundai as well, and the Metaplant America code 7YA for both brands. Hyundai's luxury brand, Genesis, shares Hyundai's KMH, KMU and 5NM codes in the same way.
So the tool checks the decoded make, not the first three characters, and points a Hyundai VIN to the Hyundai window sticker page. The Kia VIN decoder explains each position.
Kia crash ratings on the window sticker
For 2025, NHTSA rated the Telluride, Sorento and EV9 at 5 stars overall with 4 stars frontal, and the Sportage at 5 stars overall with 5 stars frontal. All four earned 5 stars for side crashes and 4 for rollover. The spec sheet lists the ratings for the model your VIN decodes to.
Selling used Kias?
A used EV6 or EV9 sells on range, and range depends on drive and wheels, so state the version in the listing. The free window sticker maker prints the decoded features, your price and a QR code to the listing on one window sheet. Federal rules also require the FTC Buyers Guide on each used car you offer.
CarShots returns each phone photo on a clean backdrop in about 20 seconds, and you download the whole car as a zip to upload wherever you list.
