How to get a Mercedes window sticker by VIN
Mercedes-Benz doesn't publish window stickers on a public site that we could find, so the original comes from the car's paperwork or a dealer.
Note the full VIN
Read it at the base of the windshield on the driver's side or from the label on the driver's door jamb.
Look for the original
Check the glove box and the purchase folder; the first owner may have kept the label.
Ask a Mercedes-Benz dealer
The sales or service desk can usually print the original window sticker from the VIN. If not, Mercedes-Benz customer service is the next call.
Run the spec sheet
Enter the VIN above for the decoded build, EPA figures, NHTSA data and recalls, ready to print.
Why the Mercedes spec sheet needs a confident match
Mercedes-Benz names don't line up neatly between government databases. NHTSA's vPIC decodes a VIN to a model family such as C-Class, E-Class or GLC-Class, while EPA lists each version: C300, C300 4matic, E350, E450 4matic, GLC300 and so on.
The CLA shows why that matters. vPIC decodes it as CLA-Class, and EPA's 2026 data lists both gas CLA250 versions and electric CLA with EQ Technology versions. The G-Class is the same story, with the G550, the AMG G63 and the electric G 580 with EQ Technology. So the spec sheet shows mpg or range only when the decoded model, engine and drive point to one EPA listing; otherwise the line stays blank, and the original label has the figure. The window sticker guide shows where it sits on the label.
Mercedes mild hybrids, plug-ins and EVs: which label?
EPA's 2026 data lists most gas Mercedes-Benz models as hybrids, and its engine notes call them mild hybrids. They don't plug in, so they get the gasoline label, as do the many 2026 gas BMWs that EPA lists as mild hybrids. Combined ratings include the C300 at 29 mpg, E350 at 28, GLC300 at 27, GLE350 at 23, S500 4matic at 23, G550 at 18 and AMG G63 at 15, all on premium fuel.
The AMG E53 Hybrid is a plug-in, with the two-box label: 44 miles on electricity and 24 mpg on gas. The EVs show range: 390 miles for the EQS 450 Plus sedan, 367 for the EQS 450 4matic, 239 for the G 580 with EQ Technology and 312 to 374 for the CLA with EQ Technology.
Why a new Mercedes may have no NHTSA star rating
NHTSA's 2026 list includes the C-Class, E-Class, GLC and GLE, and none has an overall rating. The C-Class, E-Class and GLC are Not Rated in every category; the GLE has a 5-star side rating and a 4-star rollover rating, with no frontal or overall score. The sticker law requires the label to state which ratings haven't been assigned, so these labels carry that statement in place of stars. The spec sheet reports the same status for your VIN's model.
Where is the VIN on a Mercedes-Benz, and why did the codes change?
Read it through the windshield on the driver's side or on the certification label in the driver's door jamb. Older Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs use WDD and WDC. vPIC added W1K for cars and W1N for SUVs in November 2019, so newer VINs often start with those, and it added five more Mercedes-Benz AG codes in May 2026: W1A, W1L and W1M for cars and W1P and W1R for SUVs. US-built models use 4JG (SUVs) and 55S (cars). The Mercedes-Benz VIN decoder explains each position.
Selling a used Mercedes-Benz?
With names like GLC300 4matic and AMG GLC43, the exact version decides the price, and the original sticker spells it out with every package. If you can't get one, the free window sticker maker prints the decoded version and features, your price and a QR code to the listing on a used-car window sheet. The FTC Buyers Guide belongs in the window too.
