How to look up a Jeep window sticker by VIN
The Jeep window sticker lookup takes the VIN and hands you the original sticker straight from Stellantis, the company behind Jeep. Here's the flow:
Enter the 17-character VIN
Copy it from the windshield plate or the door jamb label. The tool rejects impossible characters, like an O where a 0 belongs, before it looks anything up.
Check the decode
NHTSA's data confirms the year, model, trim, engine and drive type, so you know you have the right Jeep.
Open the original
Tap View the original Jeep window sticker. Stellantis's sticker page opens in a new tab on chrysler.com, and the PDF loads if the VIN is on file.
Read the result
A real sticker shows the base price, every option and package with its price, and the paint and interior colors. If Stellantis doesn't have the VIN, its page says it is "unable to retrieve a window sticker for this VIN at this time."
Use the spec sheet either way
Below the link, the free spec sheet adds EPA fuel economy, NHTSA crash ratings and recalls for that model.
Which Jeep model years have a sticker online?
Most recent ones. Stellantis keeps original stickers online, but not forever. When we tested real VINs on October 20, 2026, two 2018 Wranglers and two 2025 Grand Cherokees came back with full stickers. A 2015 Grand Cherokee came back with the "unable to retrieve" notice.
So the lookup works for most recent Jeeps and may not for older ones, and we won't promise a year range we haven't tested. You can read the model year from the VIN: the 10th character is J for 2018, S for 2025 and F for 2015. If a link fails on a Jeep you think should work, tap Didn't work? under it. Those reports show us which years are on file.
Which Jeep models can you look up?
The lookup goes by VIN, so it takes any Jeep model. For the 2025 to 2027 model years, NHTSA's vPIC lists 12: Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer L, Recon, Wagoneer, Wagoneer L, Wagoneer S and Wrangler.
On an older Jeep, the model year decides whether Stellantis still has the sticker, not the model.
What does a Jeep window sticker show?
Everything the factory put on that Jeep, with prices:
- Model and trim, the engine and transmission, and the exact paint and interior color names.
- Packages and options, each with its suggested price. On a Jeep this is where the value hides: two Wranglers with the same trim badge can carry very different equipment, and only the option list shows which is which.
- Price box: base MSRP, options, destination charge and the total.
- EPA fuel economy. A Wrangler 4xe or Grand Cherokee 4xe is a plug-in hybrid, so its EPA box shows MPGe on electricity and MPG on gas, plus electric range and charge time.
- NHTSA 5-star ratings, or "Not Rated" where NHTSA hasn't rated a category.
- Parts content: the final assembly plant and where the engine and transmission came from.
The Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer S also decode as Jeep in NHTSA's data, so their VINs use this page and the same Stellantis lookup.
Where is the VIN on a Jeep?
Three places, and the first one never comes off:
- Windshield: federal rules require the VIN to be readable through the windshield from outside, next to the driver's side pillar. That plate stays put on a Wrangler or Gladiator with the doors and top removed.
- Driver's door opening: the certification label sits on the door edge or the pillar beside the driver's seat, with the VIN and the month and year the Jeep was built. With the doors off, check the door itself, since the label can be on its edge.
- Paperwork: title, registration and insurance card.
Want to know what every character means? The free Jeep VIN decoder breaks it down.
What if the Jeep sticker lookup comes back empty?
An "unable to retrieve" page doesn't mean the sticker never existed. It means Stellantis doesn't have it online for that VIN. Work down this list:
- Re-check the VIN against the windshield plate. One wrong character points to a different Jeep, or to nothing.
- Use the spec sheet on this page for factory specs, MPG, crash ratings and recalls.
- Look through the paperwork. The original sticker sometimes ends up in the glove box or the purchase file.
- Ask a Jeep dealer whether they can pull the original from the VIN.
- Tap Didn't work? so we know that model year is missing.
How dealers use a Jeep's original sticker on the lot
Used Jeeps sell on equipment, and Jeep buyers check. Pull the original sticker on every trade-in and auction buy before you set a price: it settles which factory packages the Jeep really has, and it gives you the factory names to put in the listing instead of guessing.
On the lot, print it for the deal jacket or keep it on a tablet for the walkaround. Treat it as a reference, not your price, and remember the FTC Buyers Guide still has to be displayed on every used Jeep you offer. For a sticker with your price, mileage and a QR code to the car's listing, use the free dealer window sticker maker. The same Stellantis lookup works on the Ram and Dodge units on your lot.
Then make the photos back up the sticker. Shoot the Jeep on your phone and CarShots returns each photo on a clean backdrop in about 20 seconds, with on-screen outlines showing where to stand for every angle.
