How to get a Ram window sticker by VIN
This Ram window sticker lookup goes to the source. Stellantis, which builds Ram trucks, posts original stickers online, and the tool opens them for you:
Grab the VIN
From the windshield plate, the driver's door jamb label, the registration or the insurance card. On a fleet truck, the title works too.
Enter it above
The tool strips spaces, switches to capitals and tests the check digit in position 9, so many typos get caught before anything loads.
Confirm it's the right truck
The decode shows the year, model, trim, body, engine and drive type NHTSA has for that VIN.
Open the sticker
Tap View the original Ram window sticker. Stellantis's sticker page opens on chrysler.com in a new tab.
No sticker? Keep scrolling
If Stellantis doesn't have that VIN, its page says so, and the spec sheet below still covers the truck.
Which Ram model years are on file?
Stellantis serves Ram, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler stickers from one system, and we haven't found a published cutoff year. In our October 20, 2026 test, VINs from the 2018 and 2025 model years returned full stickers, and a 2015 VIN returned a notice that the sticker couldn't be retrieved. Expect it to work on most recent Rams and maybe not on older ones.
Quick check before you click: the 10th character of the VIN is the model year. J means 2018 and S means 2025.
Older pickups sold as the Dodge Ram decode as Dodge, not Ram: NHTSA lists the Ram as a Dodge model for years like 2009 and 2010. The tool points that out and offers the Dodge page, but the sticker comes from the same Stellantis lookup either way.
Which Ram trucks and vans does the lookup cover?
Every Ram, pickup or van, since the lookup goes by VIN. For the 2025 to 2027 model years, NHTSA's vPIC lists the Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500, plus the ProMaster 1500, 2500 and 3500 vans.
What a Ram truck's window sticker shows
On a truck, the option list tells the story. The decode tells you it's a 2500 with a certain engine; the sticker tells you what was added at the factory, line by line with prices, including the packages that set a truck up for work or towing. That's the detail buyers ask about, and a VIN can't answer it.
You'll also find:
- base MSRP, destination charge and total
- paint and interior color names
- the NHTSA 5-star box, or "Not Rated" for categories NHTSA hasn't rated
- the parts content box with the final assembly plant and the engine and transmission origin
No MPG on a 2500 or 3500? That's expected. EPA doesn't test pickups over 8,500 lb GVWR with a bed of 72 inches or more, and it names the Ram 2500 and 3500 as examples. The spec sheet leaves MPG off those trucks too. A Ram 1500 gets the full EPA label, with city, highway and combined MPG and an annual fuel cost.
Where is the VIN on a Ram truck or van?
On a Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 pickup rated 10,000 lb GVWR or less, federal rules require the VIN to be readable through the windshield from outside, next to the driver's side pillar. The same applies to ProMaster vans under that weight.
Chassis cabs are the exception. The windshield rule stops at 10,000 lb GVWR, so on a heavier 3500, 4500 or 5500 chassis cab go straight to the certification label in the driver's door opening. That label lists the VIN, the month and year built, and the GVWR and axle ratings, which you'll want anyway when you list a work truck.

Ram sticker lookup came back empty?
The Stellantis page will say it's "unable to retrieve a window sticker for this VIN at this time." Here's what to do next:
- Confirm the VIN with the door jamb label, not just the paperwork. Fleet records and auction sheets can carry typos.
- Use the free spec sheet for the factory specs, crash ratings and model recalls.
- Ask a Ram dealer to look the truck up; a dealer may be able to print the original.
- Check the cab. The original sticker sometimes stays in the glove box with the owner's manual.
- Tap Didn't work? so we can see which Ram model years Stellantis is missing.
Selling a used Ram with its original sticker
Truck buyers shop by configuration, so lead with it. Pull the original sticker before you appraise a trade, use its exact package names in the listing, and keep a printed copy with the deal file. When a shopper asks whether the truck was built for towing, the answer is on the sticker, not in anyone's memory.
Every used Ram you offer still needs its FTC Buyers Guide displayed. For your own lot sticker with price, mileage and a QR code to the truck's listing, use the free window sticker maker. Got a Jeep on the lot too? The Jeep page uses the same Stellantis lookup.
Trucks are hard to photograph well on a crowded lot. With CarShots you shoot on a phone, follow the on-screen outlines for each angle, and get every photo back on a clean backdrop, so a long crew cab looks as sharp online as a compact car.
