How to look up a Buick window sticker
Buick stickers come from GM, the same service behind Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac. Use the box at the top of the page:
Enter the VIN
The 17 characters are on the windshield at the driver's side and on the driver's door jamb label.
Confirm the car
The decode shows the Buick model, year, trim, engine and drive type.
Open the original
Tap View the original Buick window sticker and GM's PDF opens in a new tab.
Fall back if needed
If GM has nothing, the tab comes up blank. The spec sheet below the link still has the fuel economy, safety ratings and recalls.
Buick models, then and now
Buick's lineup has changed a lot. NHTSA's list for 2018 had seven models: Cascada, Enclave, Encore, Envision, LaCrosse, Regal and Regal TourX. For 2025 it has four SUVs: Enclave, Encore GX, Envision and Envista.
That matters for stickers. The LaCrosse sedan, the Regal and Regal TourX and the Cascada convertible aren't in NHTSA's 2025 list, and our test found GM missing VINs from 2017, 2020 and 2022, so plan on the spec sheet for those. Recent Enclaves, Envisions, Encore GXs and Envistas are the Buicks most likely to be on file.
What a Buick sticker says about where it was built
Every new car's window sticker carries a parts content box, required since October 1994. It shows:
- the share of U.S. and Canadian parts content
- up to two other countries that each supply 15% or more of the parts
- the final assembly point: city, state or province, and country
- where the engine and the transmission came from
It's the quickest way to see where a particular Buick was put together and where its powertrain was made. The rest of the sticker covers the trim, each factory option with its price, the EPA fuel economy label and the NHTSA 5-star ratings.
How far back do Buick stickers go?
Not far. GM posts stickers for recent model years only. When we tested GM's service on October 20, 2026, 2025 VINs had stickers and 2017, 2020 and 2022 VINs didn't. Those test VINs were Chevrolets; Buick uses the same GM service.
If your Buick is a 2022 or older model, the tool shows the spec sheet first and the GM link second, as Try GM anyway. The 10th character of the VIN tells you the year: N is 2022 and S is 2025.
Where's the VIN on a Buick?
Same two places as any modern car. Through the windshield, low on the driver's side: federal rules require the VIN to be readable from outside there. And on the certification label inside the driver's door opening, which also shows the month and year the Buick was built.
You'll also find it on the registration, title and insurance card. For a character-by-character breakdown, try the free Buick VIN decoder.
No Buick sticker online? Try these
A blank tab from GM, or a PDF that won't load, means GM doesn't have the VIN online. To find the original another way:
- Make sure the VIN you entered matches the car.
- Print the spec sheet for the decode, EPA estimates, crash ratings and recalls.
- Ask a Buick dealer whether they can produce the original from the VIN.
- Check the owner's folder and glove box for the original.
- Tap Didn't work? so we can track which Buick years GM is missing.
How dealers use a Buick's original sticker
Buick shoppers are often comparing two or three similar crossovers, so detail wins. Pull the sticker on recent trade-ins, list the packages by their factory names, and keep a copy for the customer who wants to see what the car came with.
Display the FTC Buyers Guide on every used Buick you sell. Print your own sticker with price, mileage and a QR code to the car's listing using the free window sticker maker. The same GM lookup works for the Chevrolet and Cadillac cars on your lot.
CarShots runs in the browser or the iOS app on any phone, and every photo comes back on a clean backdrop, so a row of crossovers looks consistent online.
