How to get an original Land Rover window sticker
Land Rover has no public page that returns a sticker by VIN, as far as we can find. The original Land Rover window sticker may still be in the purchase paperwork; if not, a Land Rover dealer can usually print it from the VIN, and Land Rover's customer service is the fallback.
That applies to every Range Rover too. In NHTSA's vPIC, the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque are models of the Land Rover make, alongside the Defender, Discovery and Discovery Sport, so this page handles all of them. The spec sheet is free: the decoded build, EPA fuel economy, NHTSA's rating status and the recalls NHTSA lists for that model and year.
Land Rover and Range Rover mpg on the window sticker
| 2026 model | EPA combined |
|---|---|
| Range Rover Evoque | 22 mpg |
| Range Rover Velar, 2.0-liter | 23 mpg |
| Range Rover Sport P360 and P400 | 22 mpg |
| Range Rover P400 | 21 mpg |
| Range Rover, 4.4-liter V8 | 19 mpg |
| Defender 110, 2.0-liter | 20 mpg |
| Defender 90, 110 and 130, 5.0-liter V8 | 16 mpg |
| Discovery, 2.0-liter | 21 mpg |
| Discovery Sport | 20 mpg |
EPA lists 29 versions of the 2026 lineup, all rated on premium fuel. Every 3.0-liter and 4.4-liter version is listed as a mild hybrid; none plugs in, so they get the gasoline label. Source: EPA data on fueleconomy.gov.
Range Rover plug-in hybrid window stickers
EPA's 2025 data lists two plug-in hybrids, the Range Rover P550 PHEV and the Range Rover Sport P460 PHEV. Each is rated at 21 miles on electricity and 21 mpg on gas, and each window sticker uses the two-box plug-in label, with MPGe and electric range on one side and mpg on the other. EPA's 2026 data has no plug-in Land Rover listing, so a 2026 plug-in VIN may get no EPA match on the spec sheet.
Why Land Rover stickers show no crash test stars
NHTSA's 2025 list includes the Defender 110, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, and all three are Not Rated in every category: overall, frontal, side and rollover. When NHTSA hasn't tested a vehicle, the window sticker law requires a statement to that effect, so the label carries that statement instead of stars. NHTSA's lists show the same for the 2025 Porsche Cayenne and Macan and the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Not Rated in every category. The spec sheet shows the same NHTSA status for your VIN's model.
Where is the VIN on a Land Rover?
Look through the windshield at the driver's side, or open the driver's door and read the certification label on the jamb, which also gives the build month and year. Per vPIC, Land Rover SUVs use SAL, registered to Jaguar Land Rover Limited in the UK, and Jaguar uses SAJ and SAD from the same company. A Jaguar VIN entered here decodes as a Jaguar, and the tool flags the make. The Land Rover VIN decoder explains the rest. For a Jaguar, use the Jaguar VIN decoder.
For an imported car, the law defines the final assembly point on the sticker as the port of importation, so that's what a Land Rover label shows.
Selling a used Range Rover or Defender?
With 29 EPA versions in a single model year, the exact engine matters on a used Land Rover: a Defender 110 with the 2.0-liter and one with the 5.0-liter V8 are rated 4 mpg apart. Put the decoded engine in the listing. The free window sticker maker adds it to a used-car window sheet with your price, mileage and a QR code to the listing. Each used car also needs the FTC Buyers Guide displayed.
CarShots makes listing photos on any phone, and you download each one or the whole car as a zip.
