CarShots vs AutoBio

AutoBio, from Protomiq (called TradePending until April 2026), puts a report on each car on your website: CARFAX history, safety ratings, awards, stickers, photos and videos. Car Pages gives each car its own page that salespeople send to shoppers. Here's how they compare, with each AutoBio fact linked.

The short answer

AutoBio is a good fit if you want a fuller report on your own website's car pages, with CARFAX history, safety ratings and awards, and alerts in your CRM when past leads come back. Is AutoBio a TradePending product?

It was. TradePending renamed itself Protomiq on April 27, 2026, after more than a decade under the old name, and AutoBio is now a Protomiq product. Protomiq says more than 5,000 dealerships in the US and Canada use its tools. Besides AutoBio, it sells tradeIQ for trade-in values, paymentsIQ for payment estimates, offerIQ for cash offers, Service Offers and Value Watch, and it says each one sends what it learns about a shopper to the dealer's CRM.

If you searched for TradePending to sign in, the Login link is at the top of protomiq.com.

On your website or a link of its own?

AutoBio lives on your website's car pages. A shopper who lands on a car sees its report, with CARFAX history, safety ratings, awards, window stickers, photos and videos, without leaving your site, and Protomiq says that keeps shoppers there longer. Salespeople can send a past lead the report too, and AutoBio alerts your team when that lead comes back to it.

A Car Page is a page of its own for each car, made from your CarShots shoot. Salespeople text or email it to a shopper as a personal link, or put 2 to 6 cars in one link for a shopper deciding between them. The QR card on the window opens it, and pages with 4 or more photos, a price, the VIN and your city can show up in search. Car Pages Pro adds a badge for your website's car pages and an inventory feed, so shoppers on your site can open the Car Page too.

What shoppers see in each one

Protomiq says AutoBio gathers information from several sources into one report for each VIN: CARFAX history, safety ratings, awards and recognition, window stickers, photos and videos, with your dealership's branding. Its site doesn't say whether the report shows recalls, your fees or service records.

A Car Page leads with the car's studio photos and its 15-second walkaround video. Under them come the window sticker, labeled by where it came from (the automaker's original, one you upload, or a spec sheet from the VIN), the model's recalls from NHTSA, a link to your CARFAX or AutoCheck report, your price with your fees and the total, the Buyers Guide on used cars, and a form for questions.

Shopper alerts and your CRM

Both tools tell your team when a shopper comes back. Protomiq says AutoBio tracks every interaction with a report, feeds that behavior back to your team, and fires an alert in your CRM when a past lead returns to a report, through a two-way CRM integration.

Car Pages counts real views on every plan, leaving out link scanners, and emails a daily summary. Car Pages Pro adds who's looking: each shopper's visits by device, the time they spent on each part of the page and how much of the video they watched, with a hot score of Hot, Warm or Browsing. It sends live alerts by email and text with a suggested reply, including when a link opens on a second device, which can mean the car was passed to a co-buyer. It also gives you leads for your CRM: a template link and ADF/XML lead emails, which work with any CRM that takes ADF email leads. Those aren't certified integrations, so if a two-way CRM connection matters most, AutoBio has the edge.

What does AutoBio cost?

Protomiq doesn't publish AutoBio's price. Its pricing page asks you to fill in a form before it shows starting prices, and its team builds a package to fit your needs and budget. Its website terms say each dealer's contract is a separate written agreement, so ask about the term and the notice period on the demo.

Car Pages are included with CarShots at $50 a month for 333 photos, month to month. Car Pages Pro is $149 a month per rooftop with the same photos included. Your first car is free, up to 10 photos with no card, and gets its own page, so you can see one before you pay. Prices are on our pricing page.

Why dealers switch from AutoBio

  • A published price

Protomiq shows AutoBio's starting prices only after you fill in a form, or on a demo; Car Pages come with CarShots at $50 a month, and Car Pages Pro is $149 a month per rooftop.

  • Photos and video made for you

Every Car Page leads with studio photos and a 15-second walkaround video, shot on the phones your team already carries.

  • Start today, with no demo

Shoot your first car free with up to 10 photos, then text its page to a shopper the same afternoon.

When AutoBio may be the better choice

AutoBio may suit you better if:

  • You want shoppers to stay on your website. AutoBio's report sits on your own car pages, while a Car Page is a page of its own on carshots.ai that your website can link to with Car Pages Pro.
  • You want safety ratings and awards in the report. AutoBio shows them beside CARFAX history, window stickers, photos and videos; Car Pages doesn't show safety ratings or awards.
  • You already use Protomiq's other tools. tradeIQ, paymentsIQ and offerIQ send leads to your CRM with the shopper's trade, payment and offer details, and Protomiq says AutoBio has a two-way CRM integration.

FAQ

Is CarShots cheaper than AutoBio?

Protomiq doesn't publish AutoBio's price on its site: its pricing page asks you to fill in a form before it shows starting prices, or you book a demo, and its team builds a package for your store. Car Pages are included with CarShots at $50 a month for 333 photos, month to month. Car Pages Pro, with who's looking, live alerts and CRM leads, is $149 a month per rooftop, photos included.

Does AutoBio have a free trial?

Protomiq doesn't publish a free trial for AutoBio; it offers demos. CarShots gives you your first car free, up to 10 photos with no card, and that car gets its own Car Page. Then there's a 7-day trial with 20 photos and a 360° video. Car Pages Pro has no free trial.

Is AutoBio the same as TradePending?

AutoBio is made by Protomiq, the company called TradePending until April 27, 2026. Protomiq's other tools include tradeIQ for trade-in values, paymentsIQ and offerIQ.

Does AutoBio show the original window sticker?

Protomiq lists window stickers among what AutoBio shows, but its site doesn't say which brands it covers or where the stickers come from. A Car Page links the automaker's original when it's posted online, shows the original if you upload it, and otherwise shows a spec sheet from the VIN, labeled as one.

Does Car Pages work with my CRM?

With Car Pages Pro, yes: put its template link in your CRM's text and email templates, and leads arrive as ADF/XML emails, which any CRM that takes ADF email leads can read. They aren't certified integrations. Protomiq says AutoBio has a two-way CRM integration.

Can I use AutoBio and Car Pages together?

Yes. AutoBio stays on your website's car pages, and salespeople text a Car Page to the shoppers who ask about a car. There's nothing to install: shoot a car in CarShots and its page is ready.
