CarShots Compliance
Price: Essentials $99 per store a month ($990 a year) for dealers under 5,000 consumers; Plus $199 ($1,990 a year) for larger, California or multi-store dealers. Free: the questionnaire, score, gap list and a watermarked draft.
What it does: AI writes the Safeguards security plan, Qualified Individual letter, Red Flags program and privacy notice from your answers, using a clause library written from the rule text. Then it runs OFAC checks with certificates, a Form 8300 cash ledger, credit notices, self-paced staff lessons, a vendor and MFA tracker, ad and price checks, AI deal file checks, a breach helper and a calendar.
Good to know: it's new in 2026. There is no phone hotline and no on-site consultant; questions go to a cited AI chat and email support. It covers federal rules plus California, not other states' laws. Disclosure: we make it.
ComplyAuto
ComplyAuto says it has more than 10,000 dealers and endorsements from 44 of 50 state dealer associations. Its products include Privacy, Safety, Guardian, DealCheck Ai, Workforce, ComplyCrypt, EduTech and a ComplyAuto Hotline, with a dedicated Client Success Manager. You buy through a demo.
It doesn't publish prices. A secondhand report of a dealer marketplace listing gives $99 (FTC Safeguard Fundamentals), $249 (Advanced Cyber Package), $299 (State Privacy Compliance) and $525 (Bundle and Save) per rooftop a month. Best for dealers who want a hotline, association backing and safety and HR products in the same place. CarShots Compliance vs ComplyAuto.
KPA and ComplyNet
KPA says it has more than 15,000 clients, including 40 of the top 50 automotive groups, and 150 local consultants. ComplyNet's website now redirects to KPA's. KPA lists custom pricing: you pick solutions, book a demo and get a quote. A comparison article puts entry-level access at "a few thousand dollars per year" (secondhand).
Best for larger dealers and groups who want a consultant on site and environmental, health, safety and HR training alongside F&I compliance. CarShots Compliance vs KPA.
DealSafe
DealSafe publishes three tiers per rooftop a month: Showroom $399, The Desk $699 and The Group $999, on a 12-month agreement billed monthly with no setup fee. All tiers include Qualified Individual support, a task calendar and an annual board report; The Desk and The Group add OFAC screening, a Red Flags program and per-deal ID verification. It offers a free gap assessment instead of a sales demo.
Best for stores that want per-deal ID verification and QI support and are happy with a yearly agreement. CarShots Compliance vs DealSafe.
Local dealer IT firms
Many managed IT companies sell Safeguards work as part of running your network, firewall and backups, and some will act as your Qualified Individual. Prices are custom. Best for dealers who want one company to own both their computers and their Safeguards program. Check that the firm also covers the paperwork side: Red Flags, privacy notices, OFAC and Form 8300 are not IT jobs.
How to choose
- How many consumers? Under 5,000, four Safeguards parts don't apply, and a lighter plan may be enough.
- Do you want a person to call? ComplyAuto has a hotline and KPA has consultants. Self-serve tools are cheaper.
- One store or a group? Per-store pricing adds up; look for a group view.
- What does it cover? Make sure OFAC, Form 8300, credit notices and ad checks are included, not just the security plan.
- Can you see a price and the work first? Ask for the contract term and what happens at renewal.
How we compared
We read each company's own website and pricing page on October 31, 2026. Where a company doesn't publish a price, we say so and label any figure from another source as secondhand. We make CarShots Compliance, so weigh our view accordingly; every competitor fact links to its source on our compare pages. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we'll fix it.
Rules checked and limits
Rules checked October 31, 2026. We read every rule on this page in the eCFR or on the agency's own site, and each is linked in the sources below. We re-check them every quarter.
