Build a DriveCentric text template with the link
DriveCentric keeps store templates in its settings, and iPacket's public guide walks through the path for a text template. The same steps make one for a Car Page:
Open Store Settings
Select your profile at the top right, then Store Settings.
Go to the text templates
Choose Templates on the left, then Text. You can add a folder first, such as Car Pages, so salespeople find it quickly.
Add a new template
Choose Add New and give it a name your team will recognize, such as Car Page link.
Write the message
In the Message field, write a short line, then the link: carshots.ai/c/d/, your dealer key, a slash and #DV_VehicleVIN#, the VIN field the guide uses.
Save and test
Text the template to a test customer with your own cell number and, as their vehicle, a car you've shot.
https://carshots.ai/c/d/{your dealer key}/#DV_VehicleVIN#
- For example
- https://carshots.ai/c/d/k7m2qx/#DV_VehicleVIN#
- The VIN merge field
#DV_VehicleVIN#, as iPacket Help Center: How to set up your DriveCentric text integration writes it. Pick it from DriveCentric's own list of merge fields if yours looks different.- Where templates live
- Your profile (top right), then Store Settings, then Templates on the left, then Text, per iPacket Help Center: How to set up your DriveCentric text integration.
- Good to know
- If you can't open Store Settings, the guide says your DriveCentric Pod can add the template for you, and can switch on the email template too.
This is a link you paste into your own templates, not a certified DriveCentric integration, and DriveCentric doesn't endorse it. Car Pages Pro shows your link with your dealer key filled in. Send a test to yourself before your team uses it.
If you can't reach Store Settings
If your login can't open Store Settings, iPacket's guide says your DriveCentric Pod, your store's contact team at DriveCentric, can add the template for you, and can switch on an email version as well. Send them the message text with the link and the VIN field, and ask them to put it in your store's text templates. Ask the same team for your ADF lead address while you're at it.
What a good Car Page text looks like
Keep it short enough to read in a notification. A greeting, one line about the car and the link are plenty, for example: Hi Jordan, here's the RAV4 you asked about, with photos, the window sticker and the full price, then the link.
The link opens in the phone's browser with nothing to install. The page leads with the car's studio photos and its 15-second walkaround video, then the window sticker, the model's recalls, a history report link and your price with fees, and the shopper can send a question from the same page.
Send Car Page questions to DriveCentric
Car Pages Pro emails a copy of each shopper's question to an address you choose, written in ADF/XML, the lead format dealer CRMs read. Point it at your store's DriveCentric lead address and those questions open as DriveCentric leads, with the shopper's details and the car on them.
Your Pod or DriveCentric administrator can give you that address and add CarShots as a lead source. Enter the address in CarShots, in your Car Pages Pro settings, and send one test question from a Car Page to see it arrive.

</adf>Views, alerts and who's looking
DriveCentric holds the conversation; CarShots holds the page activity. Every open of a template link counts in the car's views, though not under a shopper's name, since the template sends everyone the same link for that car. When you want to watch one shopper, share the car from CarShots with their name: Car Pages Pro shows each visit with a hot score of Hot, Warm or Browsing, and texts or emails you when they come back, with a suggested reply to copy into DriveCentric.
None of this is a certified DriveCentric integration. DriveCentric hasn't endorsed it, and nothing syncs between the two; it's a link in a template and leads by email. See Car Pages for what's on each page, pricing for the plans, and our iPacket comparison if you're switching.
