Why a video works here
A shopper who sent a lead form usually sent it to more than one store. A short video with their name, standing at the car, is the reply they remember. It shows the car is real and on the lot, and it starts a conversation with a person, not an auto-reply.
Sample script: reply to a new internet lead
- "Hi Sarah, it's Mike at Main Street Motors. Here's the Tahoe you asked about."
- "It's right here on the lot: one owner, and the tires are almost new." (Show the tires.)
- "I put the photos, the window sticker and the price right below this video."
- "Want to come see it today, or should I text you a couple of times that work?"
Say it in your own words. Use the shopper's name in the first five seconds, and end with one clear next step.
Tips that make it land
- Send it fast. A video in the first few minutes beats a perfect one tomorrow.
- Film in landscape or portrait, but keep the car and your face in the frame.
- Answer the question they asked first, then show one thing the photos can't.
- Text it from your own phone: shoppers open texts from a person.
Where the video goes
Record it from the car in CarShots and the video sits on top of the car's Car Page: the studio photos, the 360° walkaround video, the window sticker, the price, the model's recalls, a history report link and a lead form.
How to send it with CarShots
Record or upload
Hold the record button in your browser on a phone or computer, up to 2 minutes, or upload a clip you already shot. Uploads keep going on a weak signal, so the back of the lot is fine.
Pick where it lands
The video goes on a personal page for one shopper: a page with just the video, or on top of that car's Car Page with its studio photos, 360° walkaround video, window sticker, price, the model's recalls, a history report link and a lead form.
Send it your way
Text it from your own phone (it opens your messages app with the link, so there's no business texting registration), email it with a moving 3-second preview that opens the page, or copy the link anywhere.
See who watched
You see when the shopper opens it and how much they watched. They reply with the call, text and email buttons on the page, straight to you.
