Why a video works here
Out-of-town and online buyers worry about what they can't see. A walkaround filmed for them, pointing out the good and the honest flaws, builds the trust that gets a deposit without a visit.
Sample script: personal walkaround for a remote buyer
- "Hi James, it's Dana. Let's walk around the F-150 together."
- "Front: no chips in the glass. Here's the engine running." (Let it run five seconds.)
- "Driver side: one small scratch on the rear door, here. Tires have about two-thirds left."
- "Inside: clean seats, no smells, and here's the screen with the backup camera on."
- "Everything else, photos, the window sticker and the price, is under this video. Want me to send the history report too?"
Say it in your own words. Use the shopper's name in the first five seconds, and end with one clear next step.
Tips that make it land
- Point out any flaws yourself. Buyers trust the salesperson who shows them first.
- Start the engine on camera and let them hear it.
- Keep it under 2 minutes; send a second video for anything else they ask.
- Walk slowly and hold each spot for two seconds.
Where the video goes
Record it from the car in CarShots and the video sits on top of the car's Car Page: the studio photos, the 360° walkaround video, the window sticker, the price, the model's recalls, a history report link and a lead form. The CarShots 360° walkaround on the same page shows the whole car in 15 seconds; your video adds the details and your voice.
How to send it with CarShots
Record or upload
Hold the record button in your browser on a phone or computer, up to 2 minutes, or upload a clip you already shot. Uploads keep going on a weak signal, so the back of the lot is fine.
Pick where it lands
The video goes on a personal page for one shopper: a page with just the video, or on top of that car's Car Page with its studio photos, 360° walkaround video, window sticker, price, the model's recalls, a history report link and a lead form.
Send it your way
Text it from your own phone (it opens your messages app with the link, so there's no business texting registration), email it with a moving 3-second preview that opens the page, or copy the link anywhere.
See who watched
You see when the shopper opens it and how much they watched. They reply with the call, text and email buttons on the page, straight to you.
