Why a video works here
A trade-in number sent as a bare text feels like a lowball. A video where you show what you looked at on their car, and explain the number, makes it a conversation instead of a rejection.
Sample script: trade-in follow-up after an appraisal
- "Hi Maria, it's Chris. Thanks for bringing the Civic in today."
- "Our manager looked it over: the interior is great, and it needs front tires soon."
- "That's how we got to the number I sent. Here's the Accord we talked about, with the photos and price below."
- "If you want to talk it through, hit call on this page and it rings me."
Say it in your own words. Use the shopper's name in the first five seconds, and end with one clear next step.
Tips that make it land
- Explain the number with what you saw, not with "the market."
- Show the car they want next in the same message.
- Send it the same day as the appraisal.
Where the video goes
Use a video page on its own for a trade-in follow-up, or put the video on top of the Car Page of the car they want next, with its studio photos, walkaround video, window sticker and price below.
How to send it with CarShots
Record or upload
Hold the record button in your browser on a phone or computer, up to 2 minutes, or upload a clip you already shot. Uploads keep going on a weak signal, so the back of the lot is fine.
Pick where it lands
The video goes on a personal page for one shopper: a page with just the video, or on top of that car's Car Page with its studio photos, 360° walkaround video, window sticker, price, the model's recalls, a history report link and a lead form.
Send it your way
Text it from your own phone (it opens your messages app with the link, so there's no business texting registration), email it with a moving 3-second preview that opens the page, or copy the link anywhere.
See who watched
You see when the shopper opens it and how much they watched. They reply with the call, text and email buttons on the page, straight to you.
